![Healing Hearts Ministries Internaional [LOGO]](https://www.healinghearts.org/nimages/HHLetterhead_Web700.png) Dear Friend,  When New Year’s comes around, do you feel a certain rush of hope and anticipation that perhaps this year will be different? Many people try to harness these seasonal emotions to set out to develop new habits or achieve a desired goal. We all can relate to wishing to be different, to change, to grow, to improve. The good news is that we can change—not just minor, temporary adjustments, but lasting, eternal change.2 Corinthians 5:17 shouts out a powerful, hope-filled declaration that “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Are you in Christ? Then you are a new creation! The old has passed away! But how well do you know the truth that “the new has come” in your life? Maybe you know it, but do you truly experience it? Many of the men and women whom our Healing Hearts Certified Biblical Counselors lead through our studies have lost their way, or have never found their way, to the truth that they are indeed new creations. How precious it is to gently walk each person through God’s Word as they fully discover that “the new has come.” Hearts are set free and lives are changed, as beautifully illustrated in this testimony: “Through the Healing Hearts Bible studies, I gained a new perspective of who I am in Christ. God freed me from my past sins and transgressions, starting with my abortion. For many years, I carried the shame and pain I created for myself when I took the life of my unborn child—pain I could`ve avoided by reaching out to God instead of man. I walked in shame and pain and didn't know there was another way until many years later, and although I gave it to God and He forgave me, I don't think I ever really let go until I found Healing Hearts. I started with The Hem of His Garment, and this is where I found the freedom to let go and let God take everything away regarding my abortion and sexual sin, and forgiveness from God and others came. I was freed from every hurt, shame, and condemnation I allowed myself to endure. I moved out of the state I had known my whole life to a completely new life, new state, new me. In this new life, I reached out for more and found the Binding Up the Brokenhearted study. It just reinforced the truth that God created me for Him, and I'm satisfied with that until he brings a husband into my life. God bless you on your journey to intimacy and freedom with God.” — Katie B. Katie is one of many who have found their way to freedom and healing through God’s Word and the compassionate guidance of our Healing Hearts Certified Biblical Counselors. This truth that we are a new creation makes us live with eager expectation, and our new, hopeful view of the future changes how we live as we await our Savior’s return.
