Dear Friend,
It's hard to believe we are already more than halfway through 2024. This year, the Lord has provided some wonderful opportunities for us to share Healing Hearts Ministries through exhibiting at a number of conferences. I want to share highlights from four of these recent events with you. It's because of your support that we can share our ministry at events like these. Thank you!
Highlights from our April-June exhibiting events
Answers for Women Conference: "Reclaim"
April 2024, Kentucky -- The Answers for Women conference has consistently been one of our best venues, and this year was no exception. Women from all over the country (44 states) and some from other countries (including Australia) came hungry to learn more on the theme of "Reclaim" - overcoming the war on women for the glory of God. We were able to send Sue Liljenberg (our Founder and Board Chair), Cathy Mulvey (Director, Pacific Southwest Region), and Irene Pizzimenti (Director, Great Lakes & Northeast Region) to represent Healing Hearts and help answer the many, many questions. The conference sold out within a few days after registration was announced, so a second conference was added at the beginning of the week. This year was doubly exciting because, during the conference, our own Sue Liljenberg was interviewed by Zero Compromise. This interview allowed Sue the chance to talk about what it is that we do and what makes our studies different from others.
I strongly encourage you to watch the interview above and share it with others, especially those who need to hear this message of hope.
G3 (Gospel, Grace, Glory) Conference: "The Reformation"
May 2024, Texas -- This year's G3 conference was held at Countryside Church in Southlake, TX, and built around the theme of The Reformation. What a blessing to share Healing Hearts Ministries with other like-minded ministries and ministers at a conference designed to educate, encourage, and equip local churches with sound biblical theology for the glory of God. Both Sue Liljenberg and I (Terri) worked the event together. One of the highlights of our time at the conference was meeting Virgil L. Walker, the Executive Director of Operations for G3. We had previously reached out to Mr. Walker regarding speaking at one of our future Healing Hearts' National Conferences, but the face-to-face helped us connect more directly. Good news! After our conversation at G3, Virgil has agreed to be our next Keynote Speaker for our 2025 conference! We look forward to the wisdom and encouragement that he will be able to bring to our Healing Hearts counselors regarding the sufficiency of Scripture.
CAPE-NM Convention
Christian Association of Parent Educators - New Mexico
June 2024, New Mexico -- Julie Zimmerman (Director, Midwest Region) and I (Terri) were able to represent Healing Hearts' youth studies at this conference, with Julie also presenting a workshop entitled "Real Answers for Real Life from God's Word." The LORD had put this convention on Julie's heart last year while working with homeschool moms as part of her participation in her granddaughter's home education. It was a wonderfully exhausting weekend! Here are a few stories that came out of the weekend, as written by Julie: "The workshop, though small in attendance, was well received and we believed that each participant was there by divine providence. They all made their way to our booth during the weekend to have extended conversations. We spoke with many moms & dads who need healing themselves. One dad had participated in an addiction ministry at his church that had left him feeling empty and still in despair. We recommended our teen boys study The Fight of Your Life for him to go through and preview for his own sons before they get to the age of being able to receive the content. Another conversation with a young adult graduate of homeschooling was heartbreaking as she shared the abuse that has been present in her home all of her life. How this abuse caused her to turn to pornography, and the program she was introduced to, as a way out of it. This program suggested that she needed to 'retrain her brain'. In both cases of the homeschool dad and this homeschool graduate, the church was not pointing them to the sufficiency of scripture and the need for repentance. They were being given band-aids for a terminal illness of sin. I'm grateful we have the resources to put into people's hands to free them from the chains of sin and suffering. There were many more conversations that we had over the weekend, and many opportunities to pray with people broken by their own sin or sins committed against them. It was an honor to represent Healing Hearts at this convention, and I look forward to next year!"
Rooted: Educator Worldview Summit
June 2024, North Carolina -- ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) and the Colson Center partnered to offer a “worldview summit” to help educators discover ways to more effectively engage students in the spiritual formation journey and help them develop deeper roots in a biblical worldview. When a door opened for Healing Hearts to exhibit at this summit in North Carolina, Irene Pizzimenti (Director, Great Lakes & Northeast regions) felt led to take our Youth discipleship studies to share with the educators. Irene shared: "Initially, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but after the first general session, the Lord showed me that Healing Hearts Ministry could be invaluable in helping educators and administrators flourish in their spiritual walk; and flourishing teachers can pour into students who can flourish! The youth studies could provide a spiritual foundation in creation identity, rooted in the word of God, and point them to their Christian identity in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was able to encourage educators and parents to use the First Love and The Fight of Your Life studies in their youth groups, Sunday schools, high school curriculum, and in their own homes to provide opportunities for conversations about how faith and culture intersect in a way that can glorify God and encourage maturity in Christ. Additionally, these youth studies can lead parents and families of students to discover Healing Hearts' adult studies where they could find freedom and healing in Christ."
As you can see, our ministry has been busy this year! (And this list does not include some of the smaller local venues our leaders have presented at.) We are blessed to be able to make these appearances because of your financial support. We could not go without you.
If you would like to see us continue to reach other churches and individuals by exhibiting at events like these, please pray for the Lord to connect us with the right events and consider making a donation to our special "Help Us Go and Grow!" fund at healinghearts.org/donate. The funds raised through this fund will go toward exhibiting fees and travel expenses as the Lord opens doors.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
