Our counselors witness this miracle time and again as they lead their study participants to the life-giving truths in Scripture and watch how God breathes new life into their souls. As one participant put it, “It’s like you go through the study as a caterpillar and come out as a butterfly.”  The Apostle Paul said it similarly in 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” That’s the beauty of the Gospel message we carry.We’d like to share with you some of the beautiful testimonies we’ve received recently so that you might be encouraged with us by the transformative work God is doing through your support of Healing Hearts:  “Transformed is the word that comes to mind. This study faithfully led me step by step through sin, self, to the Savior and to the cross. I grew up knowing all the "truths" but this systematically took me to the end of myself and then to the cross, offering me helpful feedback from thought-provoking questions and my own personal counselor who faithfully walked alongside me. God’s timing was perfect and my heart was ready to dig in. There is so much that I understand at a transforming level that I want you to know that a well of joy has sprung up where deep pain was residing. I am full of hope and free from burden. Taste and see that the Lord is good... Sometimes we need a bit of guidance as we wade through the wasteland of pain and that was what this study was: a guide to gently unearth any hint of self-protection so that the healing balm of my Savior’s sacrifice could be applied. The thought-provoking questions and the truths that sprung forth, along with the encouraging and life giving words from my counselor, were all part of my healing. I am beyond thankful for this study and the sacrifice of those who made it possible!” - S “My relationship with God was missing something. I knew something was missing. I would ask God to reveal the ‘missing’ part of our relationship. I knew that God wasn’t the issue, so it had to be me. Why didn’t I feel the peace that passes understanding? Why weren’t my prayers answered? Why did I always feel that I was ‘faking’ the Christian life? I wasn’t trusting God, I was fearful. My life was lacking the basics. How could I lead anyone to Jesus? One look at my messed up life and they would surely run. That is when the leader of one of my bible studies told me about Healing Hearts. I had confessed to her that I was filled with anger and rage most of the time. I didn’t feel that God was there for me because I was so bad. I started the program, hopeful but doubtful. It would be wonderful if this really worked. How can this really work? I started out nervous and didn’t really want to answer the questions truthfully because of my shame, but I was encouraged to answer truthfully if I really wanted to heal. Jesus already knew the truth so I needed to admit it to myself. Once I got going on the chapters, I was flying through the work. It was healing my heart. I was telling people about it (not the details) but my overall attitude changed. People started noticing that I was different. Something was different—I was healing. Jesus loved me too much to leave me in the mess of confusion. I had been tricked by the enemy. I believed Satan’s lies about me. I feel bad that it took 62 years before I searched for the Truth. I had kept so many things buried deep inside myself, not actually realizing it was affecting my relationship with Jesus, with my family, with my children, and with myself. Healing Hearts is the most eye-opening, heart-opening, mind-blowing study I have ever done. I know that I am loved. I am accepted. I will never be the same again.” -LeaNever the same again! Another new creation coming to life by the power of Christ at work in her! Each story of redemption is so precious to us and we give God all of the glory! We hope that these testmonies of transformation have encouraged your hearts as much they have ours. It is a wonderful gift to receive reminders like these of the true life-change that God is accomplishing through our collective efforts to bring this Gospel-centered, grace-driven ministry to the brokenhearted.
