(Hello, my brethren in Christ!)It’s been a little over 12 months since I last reported to you in March 2022 about the Healing Hearts’ Spanish Ministry developments. I know many of you are praying for this growing part of our ministry as it opens more doors for us to walk through to bring the gospel-centered, grace-driven materials and training of Healing Hearts’ to the Spanish-speaking communities across the globe. This all began when a generous donor stepped up to give $25,000 to allow us to walk through a door the Lord had opened for us to take the ministry to Cuba. That gift really shifted our development efforts into high gear to begin translating and publishing the necessary materials to equip the churches in that communist mission field. We have quite a bit of ground to cover in this letter as I try to relay all that we’ve been up to, so buckle up! Translation, translation, translation… and more translation. It feels like we’ve been at this for a very long time – and the truth is, we have! On the surface, it may seem that Healing Hearts only has “just a few bible studies” to translate, but we are so much more than our bible studies! We have a very robust training program that requires translation of website interfaces, email notifications, books and videos. These resources serve our Spanish-speaking leaders, trainees, and church overseers…and all of this must be carefully programmed to synchronize with our English ministry. Phew! We are making progress, but it certainly has proven to be quite an effort to plant and water the seeds so that 2023 can be a year of growth and harvest. We couldn’t do this without your prayers and support. Teamwork to the rescue! All glory be to God!! Just as God provided the starting funds to begin this work, He’s also been faithful to supply an amazing team of gifted translators, proofreaders, voice-over professionals, and beta testers to help us at each step. I cannot mention every person, but I’d like to highlight a few to give you a sampling of what we’re up to. Pastor Luis Almanza and his team from Cielo Vista Church have done incredible work to record and edit voiceovers for our training videos. (Want to see one of the videos they helped us create? Visit www.healinghearts.org/voiceover1)  Felipe & Rayda (and Caleb), from their new home, Nicaragua, are proofreading portions of our youth studies and PsicoBalbuceo (PsychoBabble, by Dr. Richard Ganz), a key book in our training. Rayda, our first Spanish-only trainee, is testing our Spanish interface as we build it out.Leader Jaqueline Perez, is working intensely with youth studies. We just completed the publishing layout work for Part 1 (of 3) for both, and are excited to share early releases with Spanish ministries like Rivers of Mercy orphanage in Juarez, Mexico. Leaders Susy Vasquez and Maria Ferman (from US), and Pastor Hernando Medina (from Canada!) are each providing essential proofreading for our translations of the women’s and men’s studies.  Spanish Leaders’ Training Progress  Cuba – In August 2022, we created a Spanish Training Manual for Cuba (and future countries), where there is not reliable internet to use our online training system. We published 30 manuals in December to get them started, plus 300 Spanish HEM and 100 Spanish BUP. This provided the base material for us to train up the 12 women who will be serving as our Cuban Area Coordinators to multiply the ministry across the island. Pray for their training!  Nicaragua – As mentioned above, Felipe & Rayda relocated to Nicaragua where they will be planting the ministry. Rayda completed all available training online (becoming our first international Spanish leader!) and is now waiting to affiliate with her new church. Felipe is eager to introduce church leaders to our men’s studies as soon as translations are done. Washington – Two trainees from a Spanish congregation are walking step-by-step in our newly translated online training interface. PRAY WITH US: For Laurie and others who are translating our studies in Spanish; for the support staff programming the interface translations; for our Spanish trainees in Cuba and US; for bilingual leaders to be added to our ministry; for wisdom as the Lord expands our Spanish ministry in His perfect timing.
