![Healing Hearts Ministries Internaional [LOGO]](https://www.healinghearts.org/nimages/HHLetterhead_Web700.png) Dear Friend,   I grew up understanding and believing that Jesus died on a cross for my sins. I had been pursuing a personal relationship with Jesus for as long as I can remember, but it was based on my being good enough and avoiding His judgment rather than receiving His grace and unconditional love for me. I may have looked good on the outside, but I struggled with knowing the truth that God could see what was on the inside of me, no matter how hard I tried to hide. What was inside me was not good by God’s standards, and I eventually found myself choosing an abortion and pursuing adulterous affairs. And then came the years of hiding my dark secrets from others. I was afraid of what people would think if they knew who I really was or what I’d done in the past. I felt like I was dragging a heavy load around with me everywhere I went. I wanted desperately to be free but didn’t have the slightest idea where to begin; I wasn’t even sure it was possible. After years of living in my shame, I found Healing Hearts’ Binding Up the Brokenhearted Bible study in 1994 and it was there that I finally met Jesus face to face. As I opened the Word of God, I saw what Jesus went through in dying on the cross for my sins, and I realized that there wasn’t anything I could ever do to add to that. He had done it all―the work was finished. I only had to humbly accept His gift and believe the truth of forgiveness the Bible talks about: “… if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” (1 John 1:9, NLT) That truth set me free. The Bible says: “We are made right in God’s sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we ALL can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done.” (Rom. 3:22, NLT) The truth that I am totally forgiven and that my slate is wiped clean because of what Christ went through on my behalf has given me freedom. It allows me to walk through life unashamed because my past sin has been removed. I still remember my sins of abortion and adultery, but it no longer defines who I am or who God is transforming me to be through the power of Jesus Christ. This truth also allows me to live in the unconditional, unfailing love of God. The healing and freedom I experienced through this Bible study was so powerful and amazing that I had to share it. I am now compelled to allow God use me to reach others who so desperately need healing from their own horrible life experiences. I was given freedom in order to share help, hope, and healing through Jesus Christ with anyone who is searching. “All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4, NLT) As a Healing Hearts leader for over 25 years, this ministry has impacted me over and over again and in countless ways. I have grown personally in the study of God’s Word and in my prayer life. I have come to love, enjoy, and truly appreciate community with other believers in the Body of Christ, and to experience corporate worship in a deeper way. I have been spiritually equipped through mentoring and discipleship. My faith has grown and been put to use supporting and discipling others. And one of the greatest blessings has been the rich fellowship I have shared with sisters in Christ from different backgrounds as we focus on the gospel of Christ, which has kept the unity of the Spirit among us. I’m eternally grateful for how God has used and continues to use the ministry of Healing Hearts in my life! PRAY WITH US! We have nearly 60 new trainees (including 12 from Cuba!!) in our training program this year, eager to become Certified Healing Hearts Biblical Counselors. Pray for these courageous men and women as they answer God’s call on their lives to share the hope & healing that they received. Pray for ministry growth, specifically in the Midwest states and in Central America where many of these new trainees are. Pray for fruitful outreach from the events we are exhibiting at between January and March.
