During this season of thanksgiving, allow us to say thanks in as many ways as we know how… “Thank you!”, “muchas gracias”(Spanish),  (Kurdish),  (Romanian), “Weebale”(Luganda),  (Ukranian).(Fun fact: Healing Hearts has had all of our Bible studies translated into one or more of these languages.) Your prayers and financial support over the years has helped us to bring God’s good news of hope and healing to over 16,000 people worldwide who have been broken by sin. For the past 34 years, our counselor-led studies have been reaching life-long believers with unresolved issues, new believers seeking to reconcile their past with God’s truth, and unbelievers who are being introduced to the saving grace of the Gospel for the very first time. In particular, 2022 has seen our ministry take incredible leaps forward in translating our entire catalog of Bible studies, as well as our leadership training program, into Spanish. While we’ve had our women’s Bible studies (The Hem of His Garment, and Binding Up the Brokenhearted) published into Spanish for the last eight years, it has only been in the last two years that we’ve started to see God open wide the opportunity to create Spanish translations for the rest of our mens and teens studies, and most significantly, our leadership training resources. With Spanish being the second-most used language in the world (nearly 574 million people), this has provided a huge opportunity for our ministry to reach more people worldwide. We are so thankful for the way the Lord has assembled a skilled volunteer force of Spanish translators, voiceover artists, and proofreaders to coordinate the undertaking of this massive work. Under the guidance of our Spanish Coordinator, Laurie Beltran del Rio, we’re now on the brink of seeing the first fruits of our efforts—our first Spanish graduate completing her training within our Spanish leadership training course. Rayda’s graduation should be sometime in early 2023, after which she will serve as our area coordinator for Cuba and lead another five women through our Spanish training course next year. There are already two additonal Spanish trainees joining our course here in the States, with arrangements in the works to add more Spanish trainees in South America sometime in the near future. We owe a large part of our Spanish translation efforts to our current team of bilingual HH leaders and to the partnership we’ve formed with Cielo Vista church in El Paso, TX. What a joy to work with Pastor Luis Almanza and his team. So many other talented, servant-hearted individuals across the US, down in Mexico and Peru, and over in Cuba, have contributed in significant ways, like Arnando, who is helping us print and distribute studies and training matierials for Cuba, and the Ganz family, who has granted us rights to translate and distribute Dr. Ganz’s book, PsychoBabble, into Spanish for our training program. Thank you to each one of you who have been (and continue to be) part of this effort! We’d be remiss not to take this chance to also thank some of our large donors who have given above and beyond our General Fund needs in order to fund the special translation work. Thank you for giving generously for God’s work to be done! What a joy to be able to readily say “Yes” to the opportunities that have opened to us because of your financial partnership. Thank you to all of the individuals who have committed to being monthly donors in support of our Spanish Coordinator Laurie’s official position. What a gift to be able to have her in place to manage this expansive translation and training project. We’d be lost without her giftedness in this role. It is nothing short of a miracle how God continues to put all of the pieces together to accomplish His work.
