Dear Friend,


So much has happened since I last reported to you in October 2021 about the Spanish Ministry expansion efforts within Healing Hearts Ministries. I’m excited to share how God has continued to bless our work, opening even more doors for us to walk through to bring Healing Hearts’ gospel-centered, grace-driven materials and training to the Spanish-speaking communities across the globe.

TRANSLATION TEAM  (EQUIPO DE TRADUCCIÓN)

God has been busy adding so many excellent, qualified individuals to our Spanish translation team.

Isela Lee is one of our Healing Hearts Certified Counselors from El Paso, TX. Her church has a translation team that helps produce communications for their Spanish-speaking members and outreach. Isela’s church has graciously been partnering with us to utilize their experienced team to translate our training materials, web tools, and the revised Hem of His Garment. They will also be helping with the translation of one of the books we use in training, PsychoBabble, by Dr. Richard Ganz.

FINAL PROOFREADINGS IN PROGRESS

Jacqueline Perez is one of our Healing Hearts Certified Counselors from Seattle, WA. She’s currently engaged with the final proofreading of our first draft of Primer Amor (First Love), the Spanish translation of our young women’s study.  The study was originally translated by Flor Castor & Robin Lowry of Guachochi, Mexcio and proofread by Ilse Albanese and Stephanie Garcia in Chile.

Martha Quezada, from Isela’s team in El Paso, is completing our final proofreading of La Buena Lucha (The Good Fight).

CUBAN SPANISH LEADERS’ TRAINING PROGRESS

Felipe & Rayda are seminary and ministry leaders in Cuba, pastoring their own church and training pastors and women’s ministry leaders throughout their Evangelical Fellowship (approximately 400 churches). Rayda has formally completed El Borde de Su Manto (The Hem of His Garment) and has begun to work through our training program as our team translates it. She is currently reading and responding to Discipulado Espiritual (Spiritual Discipleship), by J. Oswald Sanders. Although we meet by WhatsApp weekly, all parts of the training module will be online in Spanish in the future, making bilingual and international training in Spanish very efficient. Our prayer is that we would be able to bring Rayda to the U.S. soon for a portion of training in our home office. Her goal once trained is to reach beyond her home country into other Spanish-speaking countries around the world with both of the women’s studies as well as Primer Amor (First Love). In the meantime, Felipe has become very excited about the men’s studies, especially after he recently completed the first proofreading of La Buena Lucha (The Good Fight).

  • 8 Bilingual Certified Biblical Counselors  (WA, CA, TX, MI, Mexico, Peru)
  • 2 Spanish-only HEM trainees  (Cuba, OR)
  • 1 Spanish-only male pastor waiting to be trained upon final production of La Buena Lucha  (Cuba)
  • 1 New Bilingual HEM client completed El Borde de Su Manto & referred for training  (WI)
  • 1 Current bilingual BUP (online) client  (NY)
  • 5 Current live Spanish HEM groups with a total of 10 Spanish only clients (one utilizing Zoom)

CURRENT PROGRESS WITH TRANSLATIONS AND TRAINING MATERIALS
  • Primer Amor – translation complete and in final proofreading.
  • La Buena Lucha – translation complete and in final proofreading.
  • El Borde de Su Manto – first edition in use while revised edition is being translated.
  • Online training module and email documents – translation nearing completion.
  • Discipulado espiritual  (Spanish version of Spiritual Discipleship), by J. Oswald Sanders – quantity discount agreement made with Spanish publisher for training material.
  • Instrumentos en las manos del redentor (Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands), by Paul David Tripp – available through Kindle App and in paperback formats.
  • Psychobabble, by Richard Ganz – author’s permission granted to translate and publish in Spanish.

PRAY WITH US: For Laurie and others who are translating our studies in Spanish; for paper to become available to Cuban printers so our studies can be printed locally; for the Lord to raise up Cuban leaders through our training; for bilingual leaders to be added to our ministry; for wisdom (and patience) as the Lord expands our Spanish ministry in His perfect timing; for the US Embassy in Havana to open and for a visa for Rayda to be able to come for final training in our home office.
