![Healing Hearts Ministries Internaional [LOGO]](https://www.healinghearts.org/nimages/HHLetterhead_Web700.png) Dear Friend, It all started with an email about Love Life, a pro-life ministry located in North Carolina. Their 40-week “Journey of Hope” campaign was bringing local churches and the community together for organized weekly prayer walks outside their cities’ busiest abortion clinics. The Lord was blessing this in N.C. and they felt a calling to reach New York. I had been praying for a door to open in NY so it was surely an answer to my prayers to be invited to participate! But there are some hard facts about New York City:
 I can put blinders on when it comes to statistics, but this time it was in my face and pierced me deep in my heart. Could there really be that many babies dying here? How many hurting parents, grandparents, and others affected by abortion are out there just suffering? How can I be in a post-abortive ministry and not know the extent of what’s happening in my own backyard? What is my part in this?Armed with this new brokenness, I went to my first Love Life prayer walk in NY. I sat in a room with people who were passionate about praying for the unborn, getting churches involved, changing the culture, and helping those who chose abortion be restored. I walked with them to the Margaret Sanger “Health” Center (Planned Parenthood) on Bleecker Street, singing and praying. It was peaceful and sweet. We stood across from the center and just prayed. No protesting, no signs, no handing out shocking brochures, no condemnation….we just prayed knowing our God is able to do ALL things. On September 29, I was invited to the official Love Life launch at Times Square Church. Pastor Conlon talked about Love Life and how the church needs to step up. He brought Lisa Washington to share about the ministry. Lisa is so passionate that she left her corporate position to work full time with Love Life in the NY area. She is also very passionate about women finding healing for their abortions and she LOVES Healing Hearts Ministries!  At this launch, we were introduced to many women and men who were interested in finding true healing. I was blessed to have one of my Healing Hearts leaders, Suzanne, and two of my Healing Hearts trainees, Anita and Latisha, with me. Justin, CEO of Love Life, mentioned several times that "Donna and her team" were there to help with post-abortion care. He emphasized that Love Life is NOT about condemnation. I am blown away at how God has worked to answer my prayers to grow a “team” in my area!Anita and Latisha are at the end of their training to become Healing Hearts Certified Counselors and they have been so faithful. They LOVED being outside the church and sharing how Healing Hearts changed their lives! Back home at our church, my pastor showed the Love Life promo video and asked the church to pray for us as we were out ministering. God was putting everything in order!  Prayer walks would be happening every week, and I was asked to share my testimony at the first one on October 5th. Anita and another woman from my church who has gone through Healing Hearts’ The Hem of His Garment study went with me to the Love Life prayer walk. We started out at a church in the East Village and had beautiful worship as pastors and believers congregated to learn more about protecting the unborn and restoring the wounded. It was very powerful, and we were all excited to start our prayer walk to the same “Health” Center on Bleecker Street. Hundreds of us walked and prayed towards our destination where, much to my surprise, many protesters were waiting for us!! (This was not at all like the first walk I made to this center). We sang hymns and continued to pray as the protesters became louder and louder. They held signs and screamed at us. They were so very angry. We had been there for about 15 minutes when they had a marching band come through to silence us! It was a pretty crazy scene (and a little scary) but we prayed our way back to the church, and once again we worshiped our God Who can change hearts and bring healing!Back at the church, I was able to share my testimony. It was perfect timing because my mind was blown at what I had just seen. This only reminded me of how much I was deceived back in the day. I shared about my abortion and how terrified I was lying on that table as they warned me to lie perfectly still since one slight move could cause me to bleed to death. As afraid as I was, I was more afraid to go home and tell my mother I was pregnant. The memory brought me back to a tragic and lonely time in my life when I doubted there was a God. Then I shared how I received God's beautiful mercy and total forgiveness as I was healed from the sin of my abortion through Healing Hearts’ Binding Up the Brokenhearted study. There were tears and many “amens” as I shared my journey with this church that was filled to overflowing. I begged the Lord to use my testimony to move even one person to seek the healing Christ had purchased for them on the cross. At least 6 people from that day reached out and are now on their way to healing!! Several want to be healed so they can help others. Since beginning these Love Life prayer walks, there has been a major reduction in abortions at the centers, and several abortion workers have left their jobs because of a change of heart. Healing Hearts is now listed as a resource for RestoredLife.us, a partner of Love Life, and they plan to add my testimony to their website. Please pray with me that the Lord will allow these new connections to reach exactly who needs to find the hope and healing we offer in our studies. Pray, too, that He would raise up more Healing Hearts Certified Counselors from among them to help reach more women and men of New York. One practical way you can be personally involved is to join me in a regular prayer habit. Every day at 9:29am, my alarm goes off to remind me to pray for the unborn. It’s a reference to Mark 9:29: “…this kind can only come out by prayer and fasting.” Our prayers are effective against strongholds such as abortion. So we pray. We believe. And our God is faithful.
