Step #5 – Disclaimers
After completing the registration process:
- You will be paired up with a counselor who will assist you in your healing process. All of our counselors are non-professional volunteers who have completed the same study that you will be working through, have received healing through that study, and have been trained to become Healing Hearts Counselors.
- This person will review each completed lesson with you on a weekly basis. However, your counselor is also available in the midst of any incomplete chapter to answer questions you may have. Simply compose a message inside of your Bible study and you will have a response in 24-48 hours.
- If a counselor is not available (due to high study enrollment), then you may opt to begin the study without a counselor. In this situation, you will be able to correspond with our E- Ministry Coordinator at any time during the study if you have questions. It is our desire to minister to you any way that we can. If you do begin the study by yourself, we will pair you up with a counselor as soon as one becomes available.
To make sure that you are receiving the best care possible, each counselor is overseen by a supervisor who will be viewing correspondence between you and your counselor. This supervisory role helps us undergird the integrity of our counseling services.
It is important that you complete one chapter each week. Once you have completed a chapter and have had a chance to discuss it with your counselor, you will receive an email letting you know that the next chapter has been unlocked for you to begin. Please make sure that you set your email program to accept email from healinghearts.org, or else this email notification could become lost in your spam folder.
If for some reason you are unable to complete your weekly assignment, it is very important that you let your counselor know. You will be able to create messages to your counselor right inside your Bible study. If your counselor does not see any progress in the study within two weeks, you may be released from the counselor’s Active Client List, so that she can take on a new participant. If this happens, we encourage you to come back at any time to resume your study. When you do, you will be able to request a new counselor, or send a request to your original counselor. However, due to the high demand for our services, it may take time to re- enter the system, as you may have to wait until a counselor is available. You will only be allowed to come back 2 times without having to go through the enrollment process again.
Healing Hearts will not share your personal information (name, address, phone number, e-mail address, etc.) with a third party for any reason. Anything you share within your study will be kept in complete confidence with the following exception:
If you are suicidal, or confess current physical or sexual abuse of a child your counselor is required by law to use crisis intervention.
