Hi! I am Susan Owen, WA State Coordinator and have been a Healing Hearts Bible study leader since 1993. It has been a privilege to be a part of this ministry. It was through the study, “Binding Up the Brokenhearted” that I came to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and received the healing He had for this broken, lost woman. Now it is such a blessing to walk this journey of hope and healing with other women through both “Binding Up the Brokenhearted” and “The Hem of His Garment”.
These studies are so amazing because they are grounded in the Bible and a funnel for God’s love, mercy and grace to those broken by sin. Before I went through Binding Up, I was a lost soul looking in all the wrong places for happiness. I did not understand God’s love and mercy, nor did I understand the great sacrifice Jesus made for me. This study took me deep into the heart of God, the work of the cross and beckoned me to confess and repent of my sins and gave me a hunger to know His Word…and to share with other women.
Through the ongoing training I receive from Healing Hearts, I am able to walk with other women as they come to know God’s grace for themselves. It doesn’t matter how “bad” we think we are…His grace and mercy cover it all. I have seen hundreds of women set free from the guilt and shame they have carried for years. What a joy!
Besides our post-abortion study for men, “Restoring a Father’s Heart”, we have a study for men titled “The Good Fight…God’s Plan for Every Man”. We have been able to offer this study to pastors and elders so they can minister to the broken men in their churches hurt by their past or struggles with sin. It has already become an amazing tool for them.
The past two years I had set my goal to virtually walk the miles between Camano Island, WA to Dallas, TX (where our annual conference is held). Poppett and I came up short in 2023.. BUT…2024 we were successful! My little 4-legged motivator had us walking 5-7 miles per day…we walked/hiked and chased squirrels in the clouds, rain, gale force winds, snow, and sunny days!
This year, we will not be doing that trek, but we still hope to raise $2500 for this amazing ministry that changed my life, and I would appreciate your support.
